Fabulous...!
All the tart recipes I found call for a pastry cream under the strawberries...except this one!
I will try it tonight. Was baking apples pies, and have some dough leftover and three baskets of incredible strawberries on the counter. Will let you know tomorrow..;>

Sana: Sorry to hear you weren't thrilled with the recipe. It's a recipe that's lower in fat and sugar (both the filling and the pastry), so perhaps that contributed to your reaction?

I just found your blog and I made this tart with some leftover strawberries I had in the fridge. The tarts came out absolutely beautiful, but it definitely had a muted flavor. The tart crust did not come out how I expected, it was a bit hard and dense (I had to slightly alter my recipes)
It was still a great step up for me and I found it easy to prepare. I will definitely be trying more of your recipes- the stuffed tomatoes are sounding good right now. Thanks a lot!

RecipeGirl: You know, I'm not sure I know that Ina recipe. That might be a first for me! And, yes, balsamic would be lovely. I saw a Martha recipe for a strawberry galette and it call for a basil infused whipped cream. That sounded great, but I think a balsamic infused cream would be lovely too. Guess I'll just have to make it again and find out ...

This looks like a great choice for strawberry season. It looks similar to Ina's Crostata. I can't help but wonder if incorporating balsamic into your tart would be yummy!

Amanda: Thank you! Actually, Kevin's not a big strawberry fan and this did indeed win him over. I didn't mention in the post because I think he's been getting a bit of a hard rap here lately with his less-than-favorite foods, which really are not so many.

Patricia: Thanks! Me too.

Gigi: Thank you! This would be the perfect starter tart. But, I'm warning you: it's probably a gateway tart that will lead to many other tarts in your future.
